RNI Radio Northsea International Playlist
Radio Northsea International (RNI) was an offshore pirate radio station that began broadcasting in 1970 from the MV *Mebo II*, anchored in international waters near the United Kingdom. It was founded by Swiss businessmen Edwin Bollier and Erwin Meister and transmitted a mix of pop music, news, and entertainment. The station faced frequent interference from British authorities, including jamming and legal challenges, due to its unlicensed broadcasts. RNI briefly rebranded as "Radio Caroline International" during the 1970 general election to support the Conservative Party. It ceased operations in 1974 following the introduction of stricter anti-piracy laws, such as the Marine Offences Act.
