It was known for its "adult contemporary" format, featuring a mix of soft rock, pop, and easy listening music, primarily targeting an upscale, urban audience. Owned by Grupo Radio Centro, it broadcast on FM frequencies in major Mexican cities, including Mexico City (88.1 FM). Stereorey was highly regarded for its elegant presentation, minimal talk, and high-quality music programming. In 2002, the station was rebranded as "Planeta 88.1," marking the end of the Stereorey era.
