Rock FM is a British independent local radio station based in Preston, Lancashire. It primarily serves Lancashire and South Cumbria and broadcasts contemporary hit radio (CHR) music. The station launched on 5 October 1982 and is part of the Hits Radio Network, owned and operated by Bauer Media Group. Rock FM's programming is a mix of locally produced content and networked shows from the Hits Radio studios in Manchester. Its sister station, Greatest Hits Radio Lancashire, focuses on classic hits and older audiences.
