Radio Aquarius was a pioneering FM radio station based in Thessaloniki, Greece, that started broadcasting in 1987. It was established by university students and became known for its alternative and progressive music programming, as well as its emphasis on free expression and independent broadcasting. The station gained a loyal following for promoting underground and non-mainstream artists, along with politically and socially conscious content. Radio Aquarius ceased operations in the early 1990s due to regulatory and financial challenges. It remains a symbol of Greece's early independent radio movement.
