The Wave était une station de radio allemande qui se concentrait principalement sur la musique alternative et le rock gothique. Elle faisait partie de la programmation de Deutsche Welle et s'adressait à un public international grâce à son contenu en langue anglaise. La station a acquis un public fidèle grâce à sa sélection de morceaux darkwave, électroniques et industriels. Cependant, The Wave a cessé ses activités en 2010 dans le cadre des efforts de restructuration de Deutsche Welle. Sa fermeture a marqué la fin d'une plateforme unique pour les genres musicaux de niche en Allemagne.
