Danubius Radio was one of Hungary's first commercial radio stations, launching in 1986. It operated as a popular music station, broadcasting mainstream hits and catering to a wide audience. The station gained significant popularity in the 1990s and early 2000s but ceased operations in 2009 after losing its broadcasting license. It was replaced by another station, Class FM, following a government tender. Danubius Radio is remembered as a pioneer in Hungarian private radio broadcasting.
