Metromedia Radio was a network of radio stations in the United States owned by Metromedia, a media company active from the 1950s to the 1980s. The network was known for operating several influential stations, including WNEW in New York, which became a pioneer in jazz and adult contemporary programming. Metromedia stations were also recognized for their high-quality news and talk formats, as well as some forays into rock music in the 1960s and 1970s. The company eventually sold off its radio properties in the 1980s as part of a corporate restructuring.
