WCFL Playlist
WCFL was a prominent AM radio station in Chicago, Illinois, that operated on 1000 kHz. It was originally established in 1926 and was owned by the Chicago Federation of Labor, making it unique as a labor union-owned station. WCFL gained widespread fame in the 1960s and early 1970s as a Top 40 rock-and-roll competitor to WLS. The station shifted formats several times over the years and was ultimately sold to Mutual Broadcasting System in 1978, marking the end of its labor union ownership. Today, the 1000 kHz frequency is occupied by WMVP, an ESPN Radio affiliate.
