94.9 KUOW-FM is a National Public Radio (NPR) member station based in Seattle, Washington. It is licensed to the University of Washington and is operated by the nonprofit KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio. The station primarily focuses on news, talk, and information programming, including locally produced content and nationally syndicated shows from NPR, Public Radio International (PRI), and the BBC. KUOW-FM was founded in 1952 and has since become one of the leading public radio stations in the Pacific Northwest. It broadcasts both over the air and online, serving a wide audience in the Seattle metropolitan area and beyond.
