FRD Playlist
The radio station FRD (Funkruf Deutschland) was a shortwave broadcast service operated by the United States during the Cold War. It targeted listeners in East Germany and other Eastern Bloc countries, providing news, cultural programming, and anti-communist propaganda to counteract state-controlled media. FRD operated from 1950 to 1953 and was part of broader psychological operations by the U.S. government. The station's broadcasts were eventually merged into Radio in the American Sector (RIAS) to streamline efforts. It played a role in disseminating Western ideals during the early stages of the ideological conflict.
