Popkiste was a popular German radio program broadcast by Deutschlandfunk from 1968 to 1974. It featured contemporary pop and rock music, often focusing on international hits and lesser-known tracks. The program was hosted by Mal Sondock, an American DJ who became a well-known radio personality in Germany. Popkiste gained a dedicated following for its engaging style and was one of the first German radio shows to highlight modern pop culture trends. It ended in 1974 as part of a broader restructuring of Deutschlandfunk's programming.
