Choice FM was a UK radio station that launched in 1990, based in South London, and was the first licensed independent Black music station in the UK. It primarily catered to urban audiences, playing genres like hip-hop, R&B, reggae, and soul. In 2004, it was acquired by Global Radio, and in 2013, it was rebranded as Capital Xtra, shifting towards a more mainstream urban music format. The station played a significant role in promoting Black music and culture in the UK during its time as Choice FM.
