It launched in 1995 and primarily played contemporary hit music alongside local news, weather, and entertainment. The station was part of the Nation Broadcasting network. In September 2020, it was rebranded as Greatest Hits Radio South Wales, shifting its focus to classic hits. The rebranding was part of a larger consolidation of local radio stations in the UK by Bauer Media.
