WITR is a student-run, non-commercial radio station licensed to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Henrietta, New York. Operating at 89.7 FM, it serves the Rochester metropolitan area with a variety of music genres, local programming, and specialty shows. The station is known for its focus on promoting independent and alternative music, as well as providing a platform for student training and creative expression. WITR began broadcasting in 1961 and has since been an integral part of RIT's campus culture.
