98.9 FM is an Indigenous community radio station based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is operated by the Brisbane Indigenous Media Association (BIMA) and was the first 100% Indigenous-owned and operated radio station in a capital city in Australia. The station, branded as "98.9 FM for the Best Country," primarily plays country music but also incorporates Indigenous music and programming that highlights Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and issues. It began broadcasting in April 1993 and has since served as a platform for promoting Indigenous voices and perspectives.
