It was founded on September 16, 1936, by the Archdiocese of São Paulo and is named to commemorate the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932. After being shut down during Brazil's military dictatorship in 1973, it was relaunched in 1999 and remains an important platform for the Catholic Church in Brazil.
