Radio Aut was a free and independent radio station founded in 1977 in Cinisi, Sicily, by Italian investigative journalist and activist Peppino Impastato. The station was known for its strong anti-Mafia stance, using satire and commentary to expose the crimes and influence of the Sicilian Mafia, particularly targeting local boss Gaetano Badalamenti. It served as a platform for political activism and social critique, giving a voice to those opposing organized crime. Radio Aut operated until Impastato's murder by the Mafia in 1978. The station remains a symbol of resistance against corruption and organized crime in Italy.
