WRVU Playlist
WRVU was a student-run college radio station based at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. It began broadcasting in 1953 and became known for its diverse programming, including independent, alternative, and experimental music. The station operated at 91.1 FM until 2011, when its FM license was sold by Vanderbilt Student Communications to Nashville Public Radio, which converted it into the classical station WFCL. WRVU continued as an online-only station after the FM frequency sale. The decision to sell the license was controversial and sparked significant opposition from students, alumni, and community members.
