The station featured popular DJs like Robin and Maynard and helped promote emerging local bands, including Nirvana and Pearl Jam. KXRX's format was eventually replaced by country music when it rebranded as Young Country in 1994. Its legacy remains tied to the grunge era and Seattle's music history.
