The Carbon Sound Playlist
The Carbon Sound is a music-focused radio station based in the United States, launched in collaboration with Minnesota Public Radio's The Current and funded by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. It primarily highlights Black musical artists across a variety of genres, including hip-hop, R&B, Afropop, funk, and electronic, aiming to celebrate and promote Black artistry. The station streams online and via mobile apps, providing a platform for both emerging and established Black musicians. It was created to address the underrepresentation of Black voices in public media.
