It was known for its adult contemporary music format, featuring a mix of pop, soft rock, and ballads primarily in Spanish and English. The station was part of the Televisa Radio network (now Radiópolis) and enjoyed significant popularity during the 1980s and 1990s. In 2002, the Stereo Uno brand was discontinued and replaced by Los 40 Principales, a contemporary hits format targeting a younger audience.
