Ecos del Carare Playlist
Ecos del Carare was a community radio station based in Cimitarra, Santander, Colombia, established in the 1980s. It was founded by the Peasant Worker Association of the Carare River (ATCC) to promote peace and dialogue in a region heavily affected by violence from guerrilla, paramilitary, and military forces. The station became internationally recognized for its role in fostering communication and nonviolent resistance. It faced significant risks, including threats to its staff, due to its mission of neutrality and advocacy for human rights. Ecos del Carare is often cited as a pioneering example of community media in conflict zones.
