Border Radio Music refers to a phenomenon associated with powerful radio stations located along the U.S.-Mexico border, often called "border blasters." These stations, such as XERF and XERB, operated with wattages far exceeding U.S. legal limits and broadcast music, advertisements, and other content to vast audiences across North America from the 1930s to 1970s. Known for promoting diverse music genres, including country, blues, and early rock 'n' roll, they played a key role in shaping American popular culture. Many were associated with colorful figures like Wolfman Jack, a legendary disc jockey. These stations often operated out of Mexico to bypass U.S. broadcasting regulations.
